Our Philosophy
All Free Spirit Training & Development programmes emphasise the following to ensure an evocative and effective learning experience for all participants:
- Practical “hands-on” approach based on Kolb’s experiential learning theory i.e. “learning by doing"
- Professional facilitation – ensuring maximum learning is achieved and programme objectives are met
- Teachable moment – identifying the teachable moment to enhance learning potential at personal and team levels
- Transference of learning - the direct linking of skills learnt to the work / team environment through highly skilled and focused facilitation
- Progressive and flexible programme design – to ensure the natural progressions of learning within personal / team development by remaining open to a group's changing needs
- Commitment to safety of participants and staff at all times through the effective application of risk management in all programme plans and activities. Safety being the physical, mental and emotional well being of all people under our care
- Emphasis on “Challenge by Choice” - there is as much if not more learning to be gained by saying no and this personal choice needs to be respected
- Identifying individual’s learning styles and incorporating these into the activity to enhance overall effectiveness of the programme.
- Promoting participant ownership of a programme to increase individual commitment and motivation through team and individual full value contracts
- Promoting environmental, cultural and ecological awareness
- Positive and effective communication between facilitators and participants is encouraged at all times, building relationships that support productivity and creativity in the workplace through recognising and valuing individual strengths and abilities
And, above all, programmes must be FUN, INTERACTIVE, IMPACTFUL and MEMORABLE
